Rose Red Flechette‘s The Destruction Myth is a story of entropy and decay, death and destruction, things seen as evil, but merely part of the natural cycle. These tracks outline some of the more real human evils and injustices that speed that process along. We’ve been divided and thus controlled, had our truths buried by fallacy, our empathy declared a weakness, and our freedoms divorced from all responsibility. Named after the word for “roots” in Italian, Radice (AKA Matteo/Psymet) brings you Erat Olim, a new collection of tunes born after a long stay in the Amazon. Most of the voices and chants were recorded during an Ayahuasca ritual between Peru and Italy. From the abyssal noise devouring the psychedelic wailing of “Sentient Scourge” to the whiplash-inducing beats of “Weaponize”, the rule-breaking, ambitious Inutilis continues to build on Rose Red Flechette‘s broken, polymetric, psychedelic industrial sound, using ever-higher BPMs, incorporating hip-hop backbeats, eschewing samples, and featuring longer, almost symphonic tracks with rhythms that defy resolution. Taking the Latin term for “useless, unserviceable, without utility” as its namesake, it was composed with the refusal of industrial music to follow rules, or to be a tool or product with a function, in mind.
